US military drafts Napster 12:01PM, Thursday 12th August 2004
Napster has announced an agreement with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) that gives all branches of the United States military - Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard - access to the Napster 2.0 music service.

AAFES is making Napster's catalogue available to over 11.5 million active, reserve and retired military personnel and their families through its password-protected, CentricMall.com, website. Authorised AAFES customers will get specially discounted rates on both Napster's subscription service and Napster Light download store.

'When we learned of the demand for digital music within the military community, particularly from overseas, we immediately dedicated resources to meeting that need,' said Chris Gorog, chairman and CEO of Napster
