Version 8.4 is mainly a bug-fix release that includes compiling fixes for Mac OS X and also corrections for the use of CSS, (X)HTML and the user interface.
Version 8.4 supports HTML 4.01, XHTML 1.0, XHTML Basic, XHTML 1.1, HTTP 1.1, MathML 2.0 and certain CSS 2 features. SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) support covers the use of transformation, transparency, and SMIL animation on OpenGL platforms.
You can find a change log for version 8.4 on the Amaya website. This is also the place to download executables for the Windows, Solaris and Linux, as well as Debian and RPM packages. Source code can also be downloaded (it's written in C) and is available for Windows, Unix platforms and Mac OS X.
First created by the W3C back in 1996 to showcase Web client technologies, Amaya is now an open source software project that is hosted by the W3C. By merging editing and browsing functionality the W3C declares that Amaya follows the original vision of the Web as 'a space for collaboration and not just a one-way publishing medium'.
Amaya was last updated with version 8.3 at the beginning of March. The next release is scheduled for the end of June.
