Gigabyte unveils Nvidia-based graphics cards 5:20PM, Wednesday 22nd October 2003
Gigabyte Technology today unveiled four graphics cards, in six configurations, powered by Nvidia's GeForce chip solutions and announced a renewed partnership with Nvidia.

'The fact that they have decided to renew their partnership with Nvidia and to use our graphics processing units is a testament to our products,' said Jeff Fisher, executive vice president of worldwide sales at Nvidia.

The card maker failed to showcase cards powered by Nvidia's latest GeForce FX5950 (with an NV38 core) and GeForce FX5700 (with an NV36 core) chips, but 'accidentally' revealed model names and box packages for two of the VGA cards in one of the posters on display. According to its roadmap, these cards will be available in the fourth quarter of this year or first quarter of next year.

Nvidia has scheduled to introduce the GeForce FX5950 and GeForce FX5700 chips to local press tomorrow morning.

Gigabyte graphics cards based on the Nvidia GeForce FX5900, GeForce FX5600, GeForce FX5200 and GeForce 4 MX440-8X series are expected to hit the market worldwide by early November.
