OpenOffice.org releases version 1.1 of its productivity suite 12:19PM, Friday 3rd October 2003
OpenOffice.org has announced the official 1.1 stable build of its freeware Office suite. It is available for Windows, Linux and Solaris.

The features of version 1.1 include support for printer-independent layout, improvements to PDF export, enhanced OLE editing support on Windows, support for PDA file formats such as DocBook, and a raft of bug-fixes.

The release is very much as you were with the beta 2, which we covered back in May - Next-gen OpenOffice makes beta 2 available.

As you expect of an office suite, there are word processor, spreadsheet, database, presentation and diagramming applications. And it offers compatibility with Microsoft Office files.

The download can be found at www.openoffice.org
