Nvidia announces Forceware software utilities

Nvidia Corporation has announced a new set of software tools offering new drivers and compilers, desktop management software, system management software and multimedia software.

The suite of utilities, known as ForceWare, is said to work with all desktop and notebook PCs fitted with Nvidia GeForce graphics hardware. This has been made possible by the company's Unified
Driver Architecture (UDA), which is forward-and-backward compatible hardware and software with Nvidia hardware and software.

Nvidia says that the desktop management tools allow users to customise their Microsoft Windows desktop, connect multiple displays, adjust DVD video levels and change screen orientation for different monitor configurations. The System Management Software enables desktop overclocking and monitoring, security and firewall features, NVMixer for configuring audio and speakers and Nvidia RAID for multiple disk management.

The Multimedia tools can record live TV, watch DVDs, record TV to recordable media and listen to audio.

The company says you can download the ForceWare softwarein October.
