Digimarc showcases Wireless MediaBridge
Digimarc has been showcasing its wireless application that turns printed materials into wireless launching points. Using digital watermarking, embedded within a picture, particual pages can be used to send PDAs and such like to specified URLs. Printed 'hotpsots' can direct the delivery of relevant audio, video and other content to be streamed to a user.

Trusted computing
The Trusted Computing Group has announced its Software Stack specification, to be used by developers for 'tamper-resistant' client applications.. Security features include attestation, authentication and secure storage, and security policies for time-stamping of transactions.

USB interface for video streaming
The USB implementers Forum has released a specification that defines the USB interface for video streaming devices - USB Video Device Class Specification Revision 1.0.. It is video-format neutral, supporting stream-based formats (MPEG2 and MPEG4) and frame based formats (including MJPEG and DV).

Power measurement for displays
The Mobile PC Extended Battery Life Working Group (EBL WG) has released its recommendations for the uniform power measurement of display subsystems across the PC LCD industry (displays make up a significant portion of power consumed by laptops, with a corresponding effect on battery life). 'These recommendations will help to promote consistency among display vendors and will contribute to the drive toward display subsystems of three watts or lower power consumption,' said Intel's Kamal Shah, chairman of the Mobile PC EBL WG.

Internet Exchange Architecture (IXA) network processors
Intel announces an expanded suite of platforms and tools for its Internet Exchange Architecture (IXA) network Processors. This includes new development platforms based on the Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture specification (AdvancedTCA) and the Intel IXA Software Development Kit 3.1.
