High-end motherboard maker QDI has added two new Pentium 4 boards to its range.

The self-styled 'Superb 4FX' (ATX) is targeted at DIY enthusiasts, while the more soberly titled P4S648FXM (mATX) is for the OEM market.

Both boards use the SiS 648FX North Bridge, which features AGP8X and DDR400 support for North Bridge. The SiS 963/963L is used for the South Bridge. The FSB operates at a frequency of 533 or 800MHz.

The Superb 4FX supports 1 AGP / 5 PCI extension slots and a maximum of 3GB DDR memory, while the P4S648FXM supports 1 AGP / 3 PCI and a maximum of 2GB of DDR memory. Other common elements of the specs include support for 6 USB ports and optionally 2 FireWire (IEEE 1394) ports.

Both include QDI's proprietary SpeedEasy, BootEasy and BIOS-ProtectEasy system.

More details can be found on the UK-based QDI's website. Pricing starts from £58 (ex VAT).
