Intel's Centrino London lig gets a soak

The Intel Inside your Life Summer roadshow hit London town today to show us why open-air working might be better with a mac...
A macintosh rain coat that is. A team of lecturers and classroom assistants from Southall and West London College won the opportunity to take part in Intel's open-air office in Leicester Square, and learned a lesson themselves in the process.
Centrino technology is the centrepiece of the office, which showcases the boons of wireless technology. Hot-spot may have been the access point of choice, and hot-desking was the way of working, but hot certainly can't have described the open-air office this morning.
'It has been pouring with rain but spirits remained high! The event went really well - and I believe still is!' a spokesperson for Intel tells us.
Intel's generous supply of parasols was quickly substituted for umbrellas, and with typical British foolhardiness, the event carried on. Also promised were deckchairs and a paddling pool, as well as a tea lady. But did she offer anything stronger...
Our spokesperson responded: 'The paddling pool was filled with foam balls but there were people in there - it also set the stage for a Centrino demonstration! The weather caused no technical hiccups (apart from ruining a few hair-dos) and I can honestly say that the tea-lady served only tea!'
So if you're anywhere in the area, you might still be in time to run down and see for yourself, or at least offer to help out the chipper Intel people and hold an umbrella...
Intel's interactive technology roadshow is travelling to 15 locations across the UK and Ireland during June, July and August offering hands-on experience of Centrino technologies.
