Big Brother tops UK search terms 11:50AM, Friday 11th July 2003
Channel 4's Big Brother was the UK's most searched for term in June, according to Google's latest Zeitgeist figures.

June's top ten is an eclectic, if somewhat predictable, selection. After Big Brother, the top search terms were Eminem, cheap flights (it had to be there somewhere), 2 Fast 2 Furious, Justin Timberlake, Harry Potter, David Beckham, Matrix Reloaded, Avril Lavigne and Wimbledon.

Beckham's relatively low placing on the top ten may reflect waning popularity since his departure to warmer climes, but worldwide he is now Google's most popular sportsperson, beating Anna Kournikova into second place. He was also number one in Spain, to no-ones' surprise. Harry Potter and Wimbledon proved to be the other UK exports exciting the most interest; they were the top two 'Most Gaining Enquiries'. The teenage sorcerer was also the top search on Google News.

More Google search related trivia is available from www.google.com/press/zeitgeist.html.
