The first LinuxWorld Conference and Expo UK, due to take place on 3-4 September at the Birmingham NEC, has been cancelled.
Despite sponsorship from the likes of Oracle, SuSE and Computer Associates, the show was having trouble gaining traction against a blizzard of Linux shows this year. At the end of June the Linux & Developer Expo ran alongside the Networks for Business show at the NEC.
However, fatal for the LinuxWorld show was the Linux Expo UK 2003. This show, which runs at Olympia on the 8th and 9th of October is now in its 5th year and has already established itself as the autumn's Linux show of choice.
LinuxWorld organisers IDG World Expo say they expect to reschedule some dates in 2004.
