Google extends adsense service to smaller sites
11:21AM, Thursday 19th June 2003
The world's favourite search engine Google has announced an extension to its AdSense programme which will enable smaller sites to make money through the Google advertising service.
The new self-service option for AdSense allows website publishers to serve contextual ads relevant to the content on the web pages. Google pays the site per click on these ads.
Interested website owners can go tothe adsense site. Google says a human being checks the application. Then the owner can log into their account and cut and paste a small piece of HTML into their web pages or ad server. Once running, owners can monitor their performance online. Google says the program is available to English language websites worldwide.
Websites with more than 20 million page per month can apply for the premium AdSense service, which includes dedicated account service.
