HP introduces two new ranges of desktop PCs

Hewlett-Packard has unveiled two new lines of desktop PCs. The HP Compaq d530 series is aimed at the larger corporate market whilst the HP Compaq d330 series is targeted at the small and medium business sector. Both feature the new Intel 865-G 'Springdale' chipset which provides hyperthreading support for the Pentium 4.

The d530 is available in three sizes from an ultra small version not much bigger than a dictionary, a desktop model and a minitower option. Models range from Celeron to 3.2GHz Pentium 4 processors, up to 160Gb hard disk drives and 4G of DDR SDRAM. The d530 range have a number of features designed to appeal to corporate IT managers including an embedded TCPA compliant security chip, single image deployment and tool-less access. Prices start at £622.

For the small company, HP offers the d330 series. Available in either desktop or minitower configurations. The entry level machine starts with a 2.0 GHz Celeron, 256Mb of RAM and a 40Gb hard disk Prices start at £459. More at the Hewlett Packard web site.
