Instant messaging for enterprises, courtesy of Sun Microsystems.
As well as chat and conferences, the enterprise-scale software supports the use of alerts, news, polls and file transfers.
New features in version 6.0 include the archiving of message transcripts, pop-up notifications of calendar events in the Sun ONE Calendar Server, and content filtering for virus and SPAM detection.
The new software will be available in May.
The real-time collaboration software works as part of the Sun ONE Collaborative Business Platform, which has also been launched today.
The Solaris-based Collaborative Business Platform is Sun's way of securely delivering services such as e-mail, calendaring, instant messaging, unified messaging, and content sharing.
