The Linux Test Project has announced a suite of tools to help in the testing and validation of the Linux kernel and related features

The LTP is an initiative by a group of Linux developers backed by the likes of IBM and Bull. The aim is to deliver test suites to the open source community that validate the reliability, robustness, and stability of Linux.

The group plans to improve the robustness of the Linux kernel by bringing test automation to the kernel testing effort. LTP says that over a 1,000 tests are in the current set of tools.

Further details of the testing suite are available at the Linux Test Project web site.
