Hewlett-Packard has launched the PSC 1205 multifunction printer, scanner and copier with a UK street price of £99.

The company claims the PSC 1205 is the world's smallest multifunction device at only 17cm high and 26cm deep.

'HP is continuing to lead the highly competitive All-in-One market by introducing our trade mark no compromise products at lower price points,' said James Guion, HP UK All-in-One category manager.

The PSC 1205 prints photo-quality colour prints at 10 ppm (12ppm in black and white) and coupled with HP's PhotoREt III precision technology can produce images of 4,800 x 1,200dpi (interpolated) on premium photo paper.

The unit can scan in 36-bit colour and its dual CCD arrangement improves image sharpness. Even solid objects such as flowers and fabrics can be scanned.

It can operate independently as a copier, without having to switch on the computer to which it is attached. There are also functions to improve text quality and select different size scans.

It connects to a computer via USB and is compatible with Windows 98 and upwards and Mac OS 9 and upwards. It is available now.
