PC Pro announces Awards 2011 finalists
Posted on 24 Aug 2011 at 17:01
The shortlist for the 2011 PC Pro Excellence Awards has now been unveiled - see below for the full list of finalists.
The Excellence Awards are based entirely on readers' opinions - but not on votes alone. We ask readers to rate the products by reliability, customer support and overall satisfaction.
The company with the highest overall rating in each of our 19 categories wins, while those hot on their heels take home a Highly Commended award.
The companies that make our list of finalists have performed above the industry average, so to even make the final list in any of these categories is a fine achievement.
For 2011, we've added a new category, for the top products that have made the PC Pro A List throughout the year.
The award winners will be announced 29 September in London.

Acer aren't #1 in each of those categories, it's done by alphabetical order...

Thanks for correcting.
However, I think it is still great for Acer.

How unutterably depressing ...
Is the "Software of the Year" category! If the industry cannot offer better than this, I suggest you simply declare "no award" this year.
Really: only two out of eight actually use a computer to accomplish some useful task, six just make it easier to manage your computer. With the (arguable) exception of Phone 7, all the products are just routine, and pretty minor, churns of long-existing packages.
Where is the innovation in the software market? It is not as if it is not needed, for example the "office suite" badly needs a ground-up re-think as an integrated "document processor" application.
