Apple announces iPhone 4 prices

Apple has unveiled how much it will cost to buy an iPhone 4 in the UK without signing up for a contract.
The iPhone 4 will cost £499 for the 16GB version and £599 for the 32GB version in the UK, without committing to a contract with a mobile operator.
The SIM-free iPhone 4 is available for pre-order from the Apple website from today, with the handset arriving 24 June. The iPhone 4 uses a micro SIM rather than a standard one, so most customers will have to invest in a new SIM card too.
Apple said the white version of the iPhone 4 will not be available at pre-order in the UK or the US, but didn't explain why, so those looking to order now will have to settle for the black edition.
UK mobile operators haven't yet officially announced their contract prices, although Vodafone appears to have leaked its prices with a "test page" going live yesterday. On that network, customers on two-year contracts will be able to buy the iPhone 4 16GB from £189.

What does pre-order mean?
If you can "pre-order" it now, from when will you be able to order it?
Get your usage of the English language correct please!

"If you can "pre-order" it now, from when will you be able to order it?"
A pre-order refers to ordering something that has NOT YET BEEN RELEASED.
When it HAS been released (and is therefore in stock), THEN you can order it in the same way that you would order anything else.
