Google tech woes continue as YouTube goes down

YouTube was offline for two hours this morning following a "technical issue".
The video-streaming site's homepage was down, although users could still access and watch videos through direct links.
It follows a technical glitch yesterday on parent company Google’s corporate page, where the biographies of executives such as Eric Schmidt and Larry Page appeared in various languages. The glitch was originally spotted when the page was displayed in Chinese – an untimely “bug” considering Google’s withdrawal from China earlier this week.
YouTube refused to comment on what caused today's YouTube downtime. "YouTube is up again following a technical issue which has now been resolved," the company said in a statement. "We know how important YouTube is for people and apologise for any inconvenience the downtime may have caused."
