The latest version of Adobe's Creative Suite will be launched on 12 April, the company has confirmed.

Adobe is refusing to divulge any further details of the product until next month's launch date, with full specifications, pricing and features all kept under wraps until the worldwide launch of CS5.

The company will hold a global online launch on Adobe TV at 4PM (UK time) on 12 April, when full details of the product will be announced.

You can register in advance for the online launch party at Adobe's website. The site includes a few preview videos of upcoming features in the Adobe suite.

So another suite of programs that cost the earth, take hours to install and then fail to work.

I wish I could love their products (and I use them every day) but Adobe are lazy and complacent.

Macromedia were so much better at caring for their customers.

Hope Adobe have learnt a lesson on pricing

ISTR when CS3 came out, it was cheaper to fly to America, buy the software, fly back, pay the VAT and duty than buy the (identical) software in the UK. I think that hit sales - I didn't get 3 - although I did get CS4.

Website

They seriously need to sort out their website.

I don't know if it's just me and my computer, but it seems to take forever to load / render pages...

When MM used to run it, was simple, quick and easy to navigate / load.

Anyone else on this?

Tantalising?

"with full specifications, pricing and features all kept under wraps"

Brilliant! Don't tell me what's in it that (might) make it worth the upgrade, I don't care about fluff like that.

As above

I have to agree with all of the above. Their website is slow to load, but quicker when cached.

I grey import any Adobe product from friends in the US or Canada. I'm sick and tired of paying the extra markup for UK localisation.

Macromedia support and products where far superior, though that does not extend to Freehand which was pants.

The only thing that will reverse this kind of trend would be for people not to buy CS5, or port across to something like Corel X5. --but yes I know that makes all of us swallow hard and act like Fanboys even contemplating it. ;-()'

Lightroom too?

It's strange that with regards to Photoshop Lightroom, which is not part of the suite, is completely the reverse. They have just released their beta 2 for Lightroom 3, showing more of the new features coming and getting feedback from users regarding usability and performance. Though I hope it's not going to cost me an arm and a leg to get it eventually.

Like Gindylow says, "The only thing that will reverse this kind of trend would be for people not to buy CS5".
