Apple has finally acknowledged a bug on the new iMac that causes the screen to be tinted yellow.
As far back as December we reported that Apple had halted shipments of the 27in iMac to deal with the graphics glitch. Then, at the beginning of last month, we reported that there was still a two-week delay in shipping the new iMac, although Apple continued to insist that the problems were caused by huge demand for the revamped all-in-one.
Now, the company has admitted the graphics issue for the first time. "We've addressed the issues that caused display flickering and yellow tint," the company claims in a statement. "Customers concerned that their iMac is affected should contact AppleCare."
Although Apple has taken its time to officially acknowledge the flaw, affected customers appear to have been treated well, with reports of full refunds and a 15% compensation payment for owners of faulty machines.
