Amazon has launched its iPhone Kindle app in the UK.
The app, which allows readers to purchase eBooks from the Kindle store and read them on their iPhone, has been available in the US since March.
The free app allows users to synch bookmarks and notes between their iPhone, Kindle and PC software. It will also remember the last page you read, allowing you to pick up reading on the iPhone where you left off on the Kindle.
The app further brings the ability to read previews of books, and alter font sizes and vary the number of words displayed per line. Amazon's also touting the fact that, unlike the Kindle, magazines and books can be displayed in colour.
Amazon claims it is currently working on software for the Mac and an app for the BlackBerry.
"The Kindle for iPhone App is the perfect companion for customers who own a Kindle or Kindle DX, and a great way for customers around the world to download and read books even if they don’t yet have a Kindle," says Ian Freed, vice president for Amazon Kindle.

Another reason
Another reason not to spend money on a device just for reading.
I know many people complain about Reading on the iPhone but I have no problem with it, in fact it's my new 24" monitor that gives me eyestrain!
