COMDEX: The mouse that thinks it's a pen

RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) could become a thing of the past, thanks to a replacement for the conventional mouse on show at Comdex this week.

The Ullman PenClic Mouse looks like a cross between a pen and a joystick. But that's where the similarity ends, with an optical sensor built into its base and a lightweight design making it easy to move. You then manoeuvre it in a similar way to how you write, making sure that your forearm rests on the desk.

This means users avoid potentially painful reactions in the 'carpel tunnel' (between the wrist and forearm), not to mention tennis elbow and pain in the neck and shoulders.

The PenClic Mouse works equally well for left- and right-handed people, and fits hands of all sizes. Swedish developer, Ullman Technology, is still looking for a distributor in the UK.
