Opera 10.10 beta brings Unite

Opera Unite - the technology which effectively turns any computer into a web server - has been folded into the beta of Opera 10.10.
Unite allows PCs to perform services such as file and photo sharing and allows people to serve videos and music from a media library to other computers. It was introduced by Opera back in June, with the company rather grandly promising that it would "reinvent the web".
The service may not justify that claim, but it's certainly interesting. It's integration with the Opera browser allows users to select which web services they wish to provide by toggling them on a control panel
It was widely expected that Unite would find its way into the Opera 10 RC released in August, however the company claimed the technology simply wasn't stable enough to be considered for that release.
Unite is the latest in a string of high-profile features that have found their way into the browser, with the company already unveiling visual tabs, an overhauled Presto rendering engine - claimed to be 40% faster than the previous version - and an overhauled Turbo mode.
From around the web
Its a very good idea - hopefully they'll make it easier with a more intuitive interface, or scales of interface ie beginner to expert. But also provide templates that users can build on or imitate - I can see other browsers doing the same soon, possibly Google's chrome will be first. Good luck to Opera on this - innovation aids progress more than speed I believe. I shall certainly give this a good look and dabble with it.
