Fujifilm has launched a compact digital camera that can take photographs and record movies in 3D. Stereoscopic images and videos require standard polarised glases to view. The camera also supports standard 2D modes.
Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang demonstrated the ten-megapixel Fujifilm Finepix Real 3D W1 at the GPU Technology Conference in San Jose. Sample 3D images were projected onto display screens, to murmurs of approval from the audience.
Huang declared that the camera would be availble immediately - though at the time of writing the camera was only available as an import from Japan at a price of $599 excluding tax and shipping.
