Orange has announced the LG Watchphone will go on sale on 27 August, with a whopping £500 price tag for the tiny gadget.
Dubbed a "James Bond gadget" by its creators, the 3G wristset is aimed at "the style conscious", but still manages to pack in a fair smattering of standard handset specs.
Alongside the 7.2Mbits/sec 3G connection, the LG-GD910 features a 1.43in capacitive touchscreen with software keyboard, an MP3 player, voice controls, VGA camera and Bluetooth connection for hands-free kits - just in case you don't fancy having to speak into your watch on the bus.
If the Bluetooth headset option doesn't appeal, there's also a speaker phone, video calling and voice recognition. There's no Wi-Fi though, so adding songs, pictures and contacts will be accomplished over a supplied USB cable.
Orange is touting the wristset as the "must have gadget of the year" and is only offering the phone at its Bond Street shop in London on a "first come, first served" basis. The company would not divulge how many watches will be on sale.
The company says more devices will be made available from mid-September via the Orange online shop, where shoppers will be able to pre-register.

You too can look as cool as The Hoff

Mmm. That's a tough call.
So, lots of people shouting at their arms on the train and holding their wrists to their ears then?
Nice.

Looks more like an early-release ankle tag!
No-one seems to be making the obvious point: it's effing huge! OK, it's small for a phone, but it's a massive chunk of a watch.
And given that the only sensible way to use it is with a Bluetooth headset, I can't jelp feeling that it would be easier, cheaper, and more practical to simply carry a normal phone in your pocket.

the battery would not last long for that size

Not for me
I dont think this will become a next generation phone. Teens like phones like iphones or phones like Nokia Aeon ( http://www.domesticutilities.com/aeon.htm ) . And its not for me
