Mozilla has begun its campaign to tempt stubborn users of Firefox 3 to update to version 3.5 of the popular browser.
The company has triggered an update offer which appears when people running version 3.0.13 of the browser start it up. Those who accept the offer will be immediately upgraded to Firefox 3.5.2.
Firefox 3 users have been able to upgrade to Firefox 3.5 since it was released in June through the browser's "Check for Updates" feature, however, the message is the first time the company has attempted to push people towards the latest version.
The update offer presents users with the option to accept the update, postpone it for 24 hours or decline it. However, Mozilla has warned that declining the offer doesn't mean you won't see it again: "We might send you another offer again in the future, but it won't be for several weeks or months," the company explains.
The message comes as Mozilla looks to phase out support for Firefox 3, which will no longer receive security patches after January 2010.
From around the web
A large portion people who haven't upgraded are staying put because their extensions will not work with the new versions.

@Phoomeister is spot on - I'm sticking with my 3.013 install until all of the add-ins I use are updated.
