Palm has unveiled two new PDAs targeting corporate users, the Tungsten W, its first integrated GSM/GPRS wireless handheld with a built-in keyboard for easy data entry, and the Tungsten T, featuring one-handed, five-way navigation and an integrated Bluetooth solution for wireless connectivity.
The Tungsten W handheld is a data-centric handheld providing a combination of wireless email, SMS messaging, phone functionality, business applications and Palm's personal information management (PIM) software. The W handheld is built with one of the fastest data transfer rates available today for the GSM/GPRS network. In addition, the Tungsten W comes equipped with a large, high-resolution, 320×320-pixel color screen and a tri-band GSM/GPRS wireless radio, making it a steadfast choice for international enterprises and executives who travel, the company said
Separately, the Tungsten T handheld, the first Palm PDA built with the Palm OS 5 and OMAP1510 processor from Texas Instruments (TI), is designed at delivering smooth, one-handed data management. A high-resolution, 320×320-pixel color display delivers a great viewing experience, and the integrated Bluetooth wireless communication capabilities enable users to communicate with other Bluetooth-enabled devices, such as printers, PCs or other handhelds.
The UK prices are £599 inc VAT for the Tungsten W without wireless service and £399 inc VAT for the Tungsten T.
