A new desktop replacement from Dell comes in the shape of the SmartPC 250N notebook.
Aimed at the typical Internet surfing, email-managing, office software user, the 250N is described by Dell as an 'aggressively priced robust configuration'. The silver-coloured notebook features a (desktop) Pentium 4 processor clocking 2.2Ghz, a 15in SXGA+ display (with a resolution of 1,400x1,050) and a 40GB hard drive.
Other details of the spec include a 32MB ATI Mobility Radeon M6 Video graphics card and a CD-RW/DVD combo drive. For connectivity, there's both a 56K V.92 modem and 10/100 Ethernet on board.
Pre-installed is the Windows XP (Home Edition) operating system and Microsoft Works 6.0.
Priced at £1,142 (excluding VAT), the new model comes with a one-year collect-and-return warranty.
