Dell has scrapped its first foray into the netbook market, the Mini 9.
Though the blurb on Dell's website still advertises the 8.9in model, there's no actual options for buying the Mini 9.
Instead, the site pushes users towards the Mini 10 and 10v netbooks, which offer the same 1.6GHz Atom, 1GB of RAM and choice of either XP or Linux.
Unlike the Mini 9, there's a bigger screen, keyboard and 160GB hard drive though it suffers from an unusual 1,024 x 576 resolution which tends to causes Windows XP dialogue boxes to disappear off the screen.
In a posting on the Direct2Dell blog, the company thanked its Mini 9 customers: "It was a successful product by any number of measures, including becoming the unofficial modders dream device with owners adding GPS modules, installing different OS and upgrading memory."
"For those of you who purchased a Dell Mini 9 during the last nine months, thank you. We appreciate your business, and hope the Dell Mini 9 continues to deliver a great mobile experience."
