Microsoft has penned a deal with Sky that will make the broadcaster's on-demand Sky Player service available through the Xbox 360.
The two companies have not revealed pricing or details of which channels will be made available, but Microsoft claims Xbox owners will be able to watch around 20 Sky channels covering sports, entertainment, movies and news.
To access the service, Xbox owners will need to sign up for a Sky subscription. It's not clear whether existing Sky owners will need to pay extra for the service, though the company confirms people will need a Multiroom package to simultaneously watch two channels in one home.
Microsoft says users will also have access to Sky's pay-per-view channels, offering a library of thousands of sports events and films. It also plans to build in its avatar system, allowing people to watch football matches together and chat during movies.
