Essential maintenance on PC Pro forums

PCPro.co.uk is currently performing essential maintenance on our forums.
Unfortunately, this means the forums will be out of service from 5pm on Friday 24 April until 9am on Friday 1 May (estimated).
During this time all forums will be unavailable, as will comments on all articles. Blogs will continue as normal.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Following the upgrade, our forums will no longer be shared across other Dennis Technology sites, such as Computer Shopper, Custom PC and MacUser. So posts made on the PC Pro forum will no longer appear on MacUser, and vice versa.
Forums shared across the sites, such as The Meeting Place, will be duplicated and appear on each of the separate sites. Again, however, posts made by users on the PC Pro site will not appear on other sites; they will be entirely independent.
The upgrade will enhance the security of our forums. Instead of logging on with just a username, you will be asked to provide your registered email address and password.
1) If you know your registered email address and password you will be able to log in as normal on 1 May.
2) If you know just your registered email address, and you still have access to the mailbox you can reset your password. You can do this now by logging in, clicking the Edit Profile link, entering an incorrect password, then clicking the link to update your password. There will be another simple method for resetting passwords in the new login system.
3) If you have forgotten which email address you registered, but know your password, log in and use the Edit Profile link to look up your registered email address. If the address is out of date update it.
4) If you have forgotten both your email address and your password, act now for a quick reminder of your email address. Log in, click the Edit Profile link, enter an incorrect password, and you will see a message offering to email you a link to update your password. This message shows a few letters from your registered email (eg: s*****************@hotmail.co.uk) which will help you determine which email address you registered.
5) If you have forgotten your password and no longer have access to the email account you registered, you will no longer be able to log in to PC Pro after we update the site. In this case, you should re-register with a current email address.
We have tried to make this a simple as possible, but apologise for the inconvenience.
