Cisco is closing in on a deal to buy Pure Digital, creators of the popular Flip Video cameras, according to reports.
According to TechCrunch, Cisco has slapped a $500 million deal on the table for the company, which has made a business out of selling small video cameras such as the recently reviewed Flip Video Mino that allow you to easily upload your footage to YouTube.
Cisco representatives have refused to comment "on speculation", but the report claims sources close to the companies are calling it a "done deal."
The acquisition would certainly fit the strategy laid out by Cisco at this year's Consumer Electronic Show. Chief executive John Chambers promised to "blitz" the consumer market over the next three years.
Pure Digital could not be reached for comment at the time of writing.
