Archos announces uninspired netbook
11:36AM, Wednesday 14th January 2009
Archos has jumped into the netbook fight with the Archos 10.
There's been a raft of interesting new netbook designs recently, ranging from Intel's "netvertible" Classmate which can transform into a tablet, to Sony's VAIO P, the netbook which Sony doesn't want us to think of as a netbook.
In contrast the Archos 10 looks distinctly uninspired. Essentially, a rebadged Hasee MJ125 there's a 10.2in display, Atom 1.6Ghz processor, 1GB of memory, 160GB hard drive, Windows XP, Wi-Fi, webcam, three USB slots and a three cell battery.
Pricing and availability have yet to be confirmed though the company will be throwing in a voucher for £40 worth of films from the Archos Media Club.
