Dixons' websites take a day off 3:48PM, Monday 12th January 2009
The websites of the embattled Dixons Group have been down all day, as the company struggles to overcome server issues.

Both the Dixons and the PC World websites have been down all day. Earlier today the sites were simply displaying blank pages, but both were showing "down for maintenance" messages at the time of going to press.

A spokesman for the Dixons Group told PC Pro that the downtime had been caused by "overnight maintenance issues" the company was struggling to fix.

It's the last thing the company needs in a week where it's expected to report that its sales have been hit hard by the credit crunch.

The company is widely expected to announce like-for-like sales have fallen between 10-15% when it delivers its latest quarterly results on Thursday.

DSGi shares are currently worth about a quarter of the value they were this time last year at 22p per share.
