Rumours have surfaced that the next iPod touch will offer a choice of either a 7in or 9in screen.
The rumours were floated by Techcrunch which cites "three independent sources close to Apple" and claims "prototypes have been seen and handled by one of our sources."
Apple is the subject of hundreds of product rumours every year, but given the company's increasing focus on mobile internet use and gaming, a larger screen does appear a realistic proposition for the device.
The report has some commentators claiming Apple is making its long-mooted foray into the tablet market, though there's no word on whether the company would look to bolster the processing power of the iPod touch.
The report claims the device will make an appearance in Autumn of 2009.
The rumours coincides with the last-ever MacWorld in San Francisco, which kicks of next week sans Steve Jobs.
