Several high-profile games have seen consumers reject draconian DRM systems, with the online activation fiasco sullying years of good relations between the makers and players of the Football Manager series.
And, as we discuss in our feature on eBooks, it looks like the DRM mistakes are being made all over again in that nascent industry.
"I don't want to talk about that," said our inside source when we asked about DRM for eBooks. "...when you ask about rights, whether the thing will run on six machines, whether that's exactly the right number, I don't want... I can't..."
