A new study has revealed work hours are the peak time for watching video online.
Nielsen Online claims that 65% of the people who watch video on the web do so between 9am and 5pm on weekdays.
The percentage slopes off to 49% between 5pm and 8pm on weekdays, whilst just over half of video watchers will do so at the weekend.
The results are bad news for employers, who are picking up the tab for the considerable bandwidth required to meet their employees' video fix.
Workplaces are increasingly blocking access to video sites in a bid to preserve bandwidth for business needs.
Nearly two thirds of employers ban workers from streaming and downloading video, according to a survey conducted last year by security company Email Systems.
Nielsen claims the time the average viewer spent on video sites increased by 10% from September to October, with YouTube by far and away the most popular destination.
