Labs issue 171: Samsung R560 update
Posted on 18 Nov 2008 at 14:32
Despite PC Pro receiving assurances to the contrary, the Samsung R560 laptop (part code: NP-R560-AS01UK) reviewed in issue 171's Next-Gen Laptops group test will not be available exactly as reviewed.
UK retailers will be stocking the NP-R560-AS02UK, which is the model that should have been provided for review.
The revised specification sees the processor drop from a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 processor to a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7350, and the hard disk from 320GB to 250GB.
The lower specification is reflected in a lower price: instead of £638 (£750 inc VAT), the new model will cost £553 (£650 inc VAT). Prices from Laptopsdirect.co.uk.
Samsung will be sending us the revised model for benchmarking purposes, so we can establish whether it is still worthy of its Recommended award and place on the PC Pro A List.
We will print an updated review on the website as soon as our testing is complete.
