Shuttle unveils touchscreen PC
Posted on 22 Sep 2008 at 13:30
Shuttle is preparing to debut its latest barebones system, complete with a 7in touchscreen.
Shuttle is well known for its compact form factor designs, but the introduction of the 7in 800 x 480 screen on the D10 is garnering a lot of additional attention as it allows a user to completely dispense with all peripherals, including a monitor, keyboard and mouse.
Among the applications, Shuttle envisions "home automation, media playback and video surveillance" with the optional surveillance system allowing users to access up to 16 cameras that can be accessed directly via the D10's touch screen.
However, the company is not skimping on the specs, with the Shuttle available in a variety of configurations including either a Core 2 Duo E4000 or Dual Core E2000 Series, with up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, RealTek 5.1 Channel Audio and SATA II support.
The D10 will be released in Japan by the end of the week. There's no word on yet on whether it will reach these shores.
