G1 Android phone set to land tomorrow

Google and T-Mobile will launch the first Android phone at an event in New York tomorrow.
Dubbed the G1, the device is expected to be a rebadged version of the HTC Dream that was demonstrated at the Google Developers' Conference in London last week.
The phone will go on sale in the US in October, with handsets arriving here in the UK before Christmas, according to reports.
As we reported last week, the G1 will cost $199 at launch, which pitches it at the same price as Apple's 8GB version of the iPhone 3G.
The manufacture of the first Android handset is something of a coup for Taiwanese firm, HTC, which has until now largely built handsets based on Windows Mobile, such as the HTC Touch.
How long T-Mobile will retain its status as the sole Android network is unclear.
