HP unveils 25in touchscreen PCs

HP has unveiled the IQ800 series, a 25.5in version of its touchscreen lifestyle PC.
The wrapping is barely off the IQ500 TouchSmart, which we recently reviewed, but HP isn't sitting on its laurels and has so far confirmed two models in the new series, the IQ804 and IQ816.
The two models will both feature a mammoth 25.5in 1920 x 1200 touchscreen display, as opposed to the IQ500's 22in screen. They will also be wall mountable, as HP seeks to more fully integrate them into the living room.
The IQ816 will also come packed with a Blu-ray burner, Nvidia 9600M graphics card and 2.10GHz T8100 Core 2 Duo. IQ804 customers are dropping the Blu-ray drive and trading in the 9600M for a 9300M GS, though they will receive a slightly higher clocked 2.16GHz T5850 Core 2 Duo.
Customers can also expect a TV tuner and remote, integrated webcam, Bluetooth and wireless, and HP's Pocket Media drive bay, which allows users to "hot swap" a HP hard drive.
The IQ800's should be arriving in the UK in October, with a starting price of £1,500.
HP also confirmed this morning that it would lay off 25,000 workers as it integrates new acquisition EDS.
