First Android phone coming this month? 2:30PM, Thursday 11th September 2008
T-Mobile is set to start selling a mobile phone based on Google's Android software within weeks.

"T-Mobile and Google will be making an announcement this month in New York City," according to Reuters' sources, who claimed that 23 September was a likely date for the announcement.

T-Mobile declined to comment and Google was not immediately available.

The handset in question is expected to be the HTC Dream, a leaked video of which emerged last month.

The phone sports a five row QWERTY keyboard, and built in orientation sensor capable of flipping the screen.

The device will likely adopt the T-Mobile branding.

Earlier this year it was rumoured that Android handsets might be delayed until 2009, because manufacturers were struggling to get to grips with the new operating system.
