Dell denies iPhone rival rumours

Michael Dell has denied his company is working on an iPhone rival.
Speaking on a conference call, Michael Dell was asked if his company was developing smartphones such as Apple's iPhone. Dell denied the rumour, but did admit the company might move in that direction one day, though not any time soon.
"I think you will see us with small screen devices," Dell said on the call.
"You'll see us with smaller and smaller devices that have capabilities of the devices you are referring to. Not in the near-term."
This is not the first time rumours have circulated that Dell is about to jump on the smartphone bandwagon. Back in February the company was heavily linked with Motorola's handset business, though the company swiftly took itself out of the running claiming it was "interested in computers, not phones."
It was also suggested that Dell was ready to release a handset based on the Android platform back in January, though nothing ever came of the rumour.
