Apple's "Rock" event expected to bring iPod refresh

Apple has confirmed it will be holding an event on 9 September, titled "Let's Rock".
The Apple rumour mill has been spinning lines about the event for months now, but this is the first confirmation from the company that it will go ahead.
Analysts have suggested Jobs is likely to introduce a refreshed iPod range, with a number of "pricing and capacity changes" to the line, with the iPod Touch dropping in price to $199, bringing it in line with the iPhone.
Early reports have also claimed the company may introduce a revamped MacBook redesign, moving it closer to the styling of the MacBook Air by bringing down the weight and making it thinner.
However, analysts are now suggesting the revamp may be left until later in the year, with Apple happy to focus on its iPod updates.
Doubts have also been cast about the introduction of a touchscreen MacBook emerging this year, due to the relative immaturity of the technology.
