The scheme, reported by videogame journalist Chris Remo on his blog, will see EA sell machines that are purpose built to run specific games, such as its upcoming title Crysis Warhead.
The choice of game is a clever one, with the original Crysis infamous for requiring a high specification machine to run, a fact which frightened away many casual gamers.
Though the details are sketchy, Remo recounts a conversation with an EA exec at Comic-Con in which he was told that gamers will be offered a choice of system configurations each guaranteed to run Crysis Warhead at various levels of quality, from high-end to mid-range.
The machines are expected to fall in the $600 to $800 price bracket. Although there are no details on when EA is planning to launch the scheme, Crysis Warhead is due in Autumn.
