Microsoft releases Home Server Power Pack 1 9:17AM, Tuesday 22nd July 2008
Microsoft has officially released Power Pack 1 for Home Server.

Those in a hurry to get their hands on the pack can download it immediately from the Microsoft Download Center, or else it will be pushed out through automatic updates in August.

The pack brings a range of improvements for Microsoft's Home Server software, including support for computers running 64-bit versions of Vista, backup of home server Shared Folders, improvements to remote access, more efficient power consumption and better performance.

Undoubtedly the most pressing improvement is the fix for the data corruption bug which occurs when people use a third-party application to edit or transfer files on a Windows Home Server with more than one hard disk.

The problem was first reported back in December, but Microsoft says it has taken this long to develop and thoroughly test the fix.

Those interested in getting hold of Power Pack 1 for Home Server can download it here.
