Dell gunning for Eee and MacBook Air

Further details of Dell's low-cost laptop line have emerged, and it appears the company may be planning to take on the Eee PC and MacBook Air all at once.
The details appeared in leaked slides on Engadget, with the laptops now branded the Dell E.
The Dell E will come in two flavours: an 8.9in model starting at $300 and obviously aimed at the Asus Eee PC, and a 12.1in model dubbed the E Slim which Dell claims will be only 0.8in thick, placing it firmly in MacBook Air territory.
According to the slides, the Dell E will be powered by Intel's 1.6Ghz Diamondville and feature Wi-Fi, a webcam and Bluetooth on the more expensive models.
As with most of the low-cost offerings, the Dell E will offer a range of memory and storage options, ranging from 512MB to 1GB RAM, and 4GB, 8GB or 12GB of solid-state storage.
There'll also be the usual choice of Linux or XP operating systems.
Expect to see the first E models shipping in August, with the E Slim arriving towards the beginning of September.
