Previously called Google Custom Search Business Edition, Google Site Search, allows businesses to use Google technology to crawl their own networks, without needing to install and maintain their own search equipment.
Alongside the name change, the latest version of the technology grants webmasters the ability to customise search results through an XML API, meaning that even pages Google doesn't normally crawl can be added to search listings. They can also tinker with search results to favour more recent documents, or specific company archives.
Google is also touting customisable synonym dictionaries, allowing visitors to search by company or industry specific terminology.
There's also a more flexible interface, giving webmasters the ability to better integrate search with their site furniture.
