Centrino 2 was expected to see the light of day at next week's Computex event in Taiwan, however, the company has now confirmed the mobile platform will be delayed until 14 July.
According to reports, the delay is the result of a mistake made while applying for Federal Communications Commission certification on the 802.11 n wireless technology, bundled on the Centrino 2 platform. The issue means the wireless technology is still waiting certification.
Intel also noted problems with the X3100 integrated graphics chipset, though the chip giant has not commented on the specifics.
The company says the delay will not affect scheduled launches of laptops based on the technology, which supports the new range of Penryn processors, Blu-ray and WiMax.
