The company was due to refresh the free online photo editor yesterday, which would have allowed users to import images from Flickr, among other features.

However, the company suddenly pulled the upgrade, citing technical issues. "As you know, we were preparing updates to the Photoshop Express beta on 7 May that added significant new functionality to

the product," the company claims in a statement sent to CNet.com.

"However, prior to going live, we discovered a bug that requires a fix. We're committed to delivering a quality experience with Photoshop Express and don't want to send out an update that isn't ready for prime time."

Adobe won't confirm when the update will be rolled out, other than saying it will be "soon".

Photoshop Express already offers integration with other photo-related sites, including Facebook, Google's Picasa and Photobucket.

The postponed upgrade would also have allowed users to save multiple versions of the same image and produce slideshows for social networking sites.
